HERstory in Action: Aliyah Wilson Leads at the She Works Summit

Leadership is not defined by age. It is revealed through character, curiosity, and the willingness to step forward. Rising 10th grader Aliyah Wilson demonstrated all three during her first full year with Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta.

A Strong Start Through STEAM

Aliyah first joined Girls Inc. in spring 2026 at Forest Park High School. She quickly stood out as a goal-driven, organized, and inquisitive young woman who was eager to learn and contribute.

Her journey began in the STEAM-based Ideathon program, where teams collaborated to solve a real-world challenge presented by ADP. Aliyah asked thoughtful questions, offered innovative ideas, and approached the experience with confidence and a genuine desire to make an impact.

Stepping Into Leadership

This summer, Aliyah continued building those skills as a participant in the She Works Summit. When an opportunity arose to facilitate a classroom, she stepped forward and led with professionalism, organization, and poise.

Her ability to guide the room impressed both staff and peers. More importantly, it showed that Aliyah was willing to move beyond simply participating and take responsibility for helping others have a successful experience.

Aliyah’s HERstory is only beginning, but she has already shown that young leaders do not have to wait for permission to make an impact.

Although this is Aliyah’s first full year with Girls Inc., her willingness to embrace new challenges, lead by example, and contribute with purpose reflects the qualities of a future leader. We look forward to seeing where her confidence and curiosity take her next.
