Learning, Leadership, and Connection at KIPP Vision
KIPP Vision · September 2026
Curiosity grows here.
So does connection.
A month of wellness, creativity, reading, service, and time with friends.
Girls Inc. scholars at KIPP Vision spent September exploring their health, asking questions, reading, and connecting with one another. Across the month, afterschool programming offered different ways to practice teamwork, creativity, and leadership.
Exploring wellness and STEAM.
Through Sporting Chance: Bone Zone, scholars explored healthy bones, physical activity, nutrition, and the importance of caring for their bodies. Hands-on activities and discussions connected movement and healthy choices with overall wellness.
STEAM experiences invited scholars to experiment, solve problems, and work together. Participants practiced considering different approaches and continuing when an initial idea did not work. One September highlight was a hands-on STEAM activity for K–2 scholars that encouraged exploration and creativity.
Learning and belonging
Space to ask questions, work together, and connect with friends.
Reading and giving back.
Literacy activities included reading, discussion, and opportunities for self-expression. Middle school scholars also began preparing for the Girls Inc. Book Club curriculum, setting the stage for further conversations about books and their own perspectives.
A community service project gave scholars opportunities to practice kindness, responsibility, and teamwork toward a shared goal. The experience emphasized that small acts of service can be meaningful contributions to a community.
Making time to connect.
Fun Friday offered games, creative activities, and time for positive peer interactions. An ice cream social was a September highlight, giving scholars a chance to relax and enjoy being together.
From investigating how their bodies work to sharing time with friends, September’s experiences made space for both learning and belonging at KIPP Vision.
