Morehouse Partnership Supports Student Growth at KIPP WAYS

KIPP WAYS · September 2026

Positive connections.
Room to grow.

Welcoming Morehouse College students back for another semester of partnership.

At the end of September, Girls Inc. at KIPP WAYS welcomed Morehouse College back for another semester of partnership. Morehouse students work alongside our youth to support social and emotional development through activities, conversations, and encouragement.

Practicing skills for everyday challenges.

Visits focus on emotional regulation, maintaining focus, and developing positive behaviors. Through their interactions with the Morehouse students, youth have opportunities to better understand their emotions, consider how they respond, and explore strategies for staying focused during the school day and afterschool programming.

These are skills participants can practice in everyday situations: noticing a feeling, thinking about a reaction, or deciding how to approach a challenge.

Connection and encouragement

Understanding emotions. Practicing focus. Building positive connections.

Building connections with positive role models.

The partnership also brings additional positive role models into the program. Morehouse students offer guidance and encouragement while spending time with youth and supporting their development.

As the semester continues, the partnership will provide further opportunities to explore emotional awareness, self-control, and decision-making. We appreciate the Morehouse students for returning to share their time and support with our Girls Inc. community.
