Sarah Jane Houston: Pilot Ambassador & Miss Greater Atlanta 2026

Sarah Jane Houston: Pilot Ambassador & Community Advocate

Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta is proud to introduce Sarah Jane Houston as our Pilot Ambassador. A dedicated community advocate, author, and the reigning Miss Greater Atlanta 2026, Sarah Jane embodies the “Strong, Smart, and Bold” values we instill in every girl we serve.

A Vision for Inclusion: “See It, Be It”

Sarah Jane is the founder of See It, Be It, an initiative rooted in representation and the belief that young people must see themselves reflected in leadership roles to aspire to them.

Her passion for visibility is deeply personal. Born legally blind and having undergone four major eye surgeries before the age of two, Sarah Jane understood early on the impact of not seeing yourself represented in the world. Today, she uses those experiences to create inclusive spaces where all young people can thrive.

Author and Educator

Sarah Jane is the author of Janeybug’s Big Day, a children’s book designed to empower children with visual impairments. Her work has reached a statewide scale, as the book is currently featured in the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning’s inclusion curriculum.

Professionally, she is a Registered Behavior Technician and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, further deepening her impact on youth development.

A Full-Circle Journey

For Sarah Jane, this role is a homecoming. Having grown up in Girls Inc. programming while her mother worked for the organization, she credits the sisterhood with shaping her leadership. Now, she returns to mentor the next generation, proving that when a girl is empowered, she eventually leads the way for others.
