Our students recently participated in their second Paint Love session, and it proved to be another powerful and meaningful highlight of the month. Hosted at the Girls Inc. Center, the session invited students to explore a variety of artistic materials—including paint, pipe cleaners, feathers, colored sticks, and more—to create personal art pieces that reflected their unique experiences and imaginations.

What makes Paint Love so special is that it goes far beyond making colorful creations. Each activity is intentionally designed to provide students with a safe, open-ended way to express emotions, process experiences, and connect with others—all through the therapeutic power of art.

As they painted and built their artwork, many students began sharing the stories behind their creations. Some opened up about their day, while others used the creative process to work through feelings they couldn’t yet verbalize. In this environment, art became a tool for healing, confidence-building, and connection.

Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta is proud to partner with Paint Love to offer these experiences as part of our holistic youth development approach. We believe that when girls are given the space and tools to express themselves creatively, they grow stronger emotionally and socially—and that’s exactly what we witnessed in this session.
