Empowering Families: Bridging the Digital Divide in Atlanta

At Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta, we know that to empower a girl, we must also empower her community. This January, our Director of Wellness and Family Engagement led a powerful initiative to increase technology access through a partnership with Inspiredu, hosting two transformative Adult Digital Literacy workshops.

Hands-On Skills and Hardware

Held at the Exchange Recreation Center and our own headquarters, these workshops welcomed over 40 participants. The goal was simple but profound: remove the barriers to the digital world. Each attendee received a free laptop, ensuring they left not just with knowledge, but with the actual tools needed for:

• Safe Internet Navigation & Communication

• Supporting Student Learning at Home

A Commitment to Digital Equity

By pairing high-quality hardware with hands-on education, we are tackling “Digital Equity” head-on. Participants practiced basic computer navigation and email use in a supportive environment, building the confidence necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

This collaboration with Inspiredu reflects our deep commitment to lifelong learning and family empowerment. When adults in our community are tech-savvy and connected, the entire family stays Strong, Smart, and Bold.
